Half marathon
Doesn’t sound all that bad on paper, does it? But running it with Scot (who doesn’t let you get away with whining or even walking) makes you dig deep down and use up every ounce of energy you have. Then when you realizes you used all your energy and you still have about 5 miles to go, you have to dig even deeper and see what you have left. I didn’t have much left. I cannot feel my legs right now. Having a dickens of a time getting around, but by golly, I finished that half marathon, my first ever for a run, and I’m quite proud of it.
Thanks babe for the assist!
Indoor Garden
Our Hydroponic thingy isn’t going so well. I put some seedlings in there and they aren’t looking good. Is it strictly for cuttings, can’t seedlings live in there too? Maybe I have the wrong solution. It didn’t seem like it would be this difficult when I bought the stupid thing.
Puzzle
So I found the missing puzzle piece. Of course I found it immediately after putting away the entire 5,000 piece puzzle so I still haven’t seen it complete. Scot says I have to re-do the whole puzzle now, what do you think?
TULIPS
- Early morning, not quite open yet, 4/15/11
- Inside of yellow tulip, 4/15/11
- Yellow with red fringes, 4/15/11
- First purple tulip, 4/15/11
- Tulip, 2/14/11
- Bonni’s finger showing how tall the tulips are already, 2/14/11
Look ma, there’s seedlings
- Cucumbers in dirt, not in zip lock
- Cucumber in zip lock, no dirt
It’s been 4 days. FOUR days and so far the zip lock bags have cracked open the cucumber and tomato seeds. The sunflower seeds haven’t budged but we are worried that they aren’t real seeds anyway. The seeds in dirt (no zip lock) are poking up already. The zip locks with dirt in them however, haven’t shown anything but our hypothesis is that we just can’t see it through the dirt. Time will tell.
Seeds in bags
If it looks like the zip lock bags need more moisture, do I open them and spray them or do you just leave them alone once they are sealed? Who knows this?
Gardening
- Bonni with Zip Locks
- Seeds in dirt and tray
- Hydroponic thing
Someone should really monitor me when I’m shopping. I got talked into buying a hydroponics thing (quite pricey), thinking that it will make my little seedlings grow faster. Turns out you actually need roots to use the darn thing, you can’t just plant seeds in it and let it do it’s thing. Go figure…. so Bonni and I started some seeds in zip locks like all the good first grade teachers do and we started some seeds in a tray in dirt to see which ones do better. Then the zip lock seeds, if they sprout, will go into the hyroponic tray to see how they do. The seeds in dirt will go into the garden. So, er, don’t buy hydroponic stuff if you are just trying to start seeds for a garden. Oops and Grrr!
